Overall
Summary
PC Magazine believes that as a weapon against the ever-growing nuisance of spyware and adware, this latest version of Ad-Aware looks better than ever PC Magazine reports Search and Destroy is good for individual desktop use only; no network version available CNET reports that PestPatrol offers fast and thorough spyware protection, but it is also the most expensive antispyware app reviewed PC Magazine says that Spy Sweeper is the single best antispyware package ever tested and version 3.5 is even more accurate and faster. PC Magazine says that Microsoft AntiSpyware adds some important tools to a security arsenal. However, the current beta version's performance lags behind Webroot's Spy Sweeper, our current Editors' Choice, in the two main tasks of an antispyware utility: removing spyware and preventing any new spyware from installing. We look forward to the final release of the program. CNET says that McAfee AntiSpyware's automated spyware scanning makes this a sensible addition to any PC's security measures
