From the media center at the Tokyo Motor Show, we were trickle uploading high res photo files and metadata to a remote high speed server we use in another location. Day One uploads went just fine using BatchSynch to monitor the unattended upload.

On Day Two, we discovered we were locked out of the remote server and had no way to deliver our data. This would mean missing our deadline.

I knew we had an ftp server configured within our Car Culture network, although it performed at a lower speed. There was no possibility of me remembering the login information while suffering from extreme jet lag and at the end of a 16 hour day.

I suddenly recalled we had filed all the information in our All Covered Guidebook and was able to access the records, log in to our ftp, and push hundreds of files from a Manga Internet Cafe overlooking the Bay of Tokyo at midnight. We did not miss the deadline.

It all worked in the end and I'm proud about that. I thought you might like to know.”
